What Forgeycloud Does, in Plain Language
Forgeycloud is an English-language economics news outlet covering Thailand and the broader Southeast Asian region. We publish original reporting and analysis on the macro-economy, labour market, government policy, business sectors, and household finances. Our primary audience is professionals — economists, financial analysts, business operators, civil servants, and researchers — who need reliable, sourced information to do their jobs. We also serve a growing readership of educated generalists who want to understand how policy decisions and economic shifts affect daily life in Thailand, from energy prices to rental costs to the availability of formal employment. We are based in Pattaya, which places us within the Eastern Economic Corridor — one of Thailand's most economically active and structurally complex regions — and we cover national data through that regional lens without limiting our scope to local stories. Our coverage area is the Kingdom of Thailand, with contextual reporting on ASEAN neighbours where their trajectories directly illuminate Thai conditions.
How the Newsroom Works
Forgeycloud was founded in 2019 with a three-person editorial team. As of 2024, the team numbers nine: four reporters with economics or data-journalism backgrounds, two data analysts who build and maintain our proprietary datasets, one sub-editor responsible for accuracy and consistency checks, and two editorial coordinators managing source relations and the publication calendar. Every article goes through a two-stage review: a factual check against the cited primary source, and a methodology review that asks whether the analytical claim is supported by the data as cited or whether it overstates what the figures can show. We decline to publish analysis that rests on single-source data for major claims, and we publish correction notices within 24 hours when errors are identified by readers or internal review. Our rose-warm editorial design is intentional — economics data presented in an approachable, well-structured environment reaches more readers. Since 2021, our monthly readership has grown from approximately 4,200 unique visitors to over 67,000, which we attribute primarily to the depth of sourcing and the accessibility of the writing rather than to search-engine optimisation strategies. We do not accept sponsored content, and no advertiser influences editorial decisions.
What We Do Not Cover, and Why
Defining scope honestly is part of responsible journalism. Forgeycloud does not publish cryptocurrency content of any kind — not because the topic is unimportant, but because the evidentiary standards required for reliable crypto reporting are beyond our current methodology. We do not publish currency-trading analysis, forex signals, or content that could be read as advice on speculative positions. We do not make price predictions, issue buy or sell framings, or present forward-looking economic projections as anything other than modelled scenarios with stated assumptions. Economic forecasting is inherently uncertain; where we cite third-party projections — from the IMF, World Bank, or NESDC — we present the projection range, the methodology summary, and the historical accuracy record of that institution. Readers who want investment guidance should consult a licensed financial adviser. Forgeycloud provides the economic context; what readers do with that context is their decision.
